Yampa Valley Medical Center is accredited by The Joint Commission, which evaluates and accredits nearly 15,000 health care organizations and programs in the United States. The Joint Commission is the nation’s predominant standards-setting and accrediting body in health care, helping to ensure and monitor the quality and safety of patient care in hospitals.

Diabetes Education

YVMC’s Diabetes Education program is accredited by the American Association of Diabetes Educators.

Diagnostic Imaging

Our Magnetic Resonance Imaging program is accredited through the American College of Radiology (ACR). The Mammography program is accredited by ACR and meets all requirements of the Mammography Quality Standards Act.

Emergency Department

YVMC’s Emergency Department is designated by the State of Colorado as a Level IV Trauma Center.

Family Birth Place

Our Special Care Nursery has Level IIb nursery designation through the Colorado Perinatal Care Council. YVMC’s lactation consultation program is certified by the International Board for Lactation Consultation.
